Chaoseater

DARKSIDERS
War

Lilith created the Nephilim — also known as the Four Horsemen — with her own hands using the remnants of Angels and Demons. While the Nephilim have the power to destroy both Light and Darkness, they chose to serve the Charred Council and maintain peace between Heaven and Hell. War is known as the Red Houseman. His element is fire and he use Chaoseater as his weapon.

War suddenly found himself in the midst of war during the Apocalypse.
Abaddon, the chief-commander of Heaven’s armies, had counted on the Four Horsemen's absence. As such, War's presence caught Abaddon off-guard — allowing Straga, the Demon General, to assassinate him.

With Abaddon's death, the Demons' victory in the Apocalypse is assured. They then went on to destroy humanity. Naturally, War was blamed for the outcome. As such, the Charred Council deprived War of his powers and Chaoseater. However, War's plea of innocence was also considered. After deliberation, the Charred Council granted him freedom, in exchange for capturing those responsible. Chaoseater was also returned to him, although the sword was in a weakened state.

War then went to Earth — now
demon-infested — to conduct his investigations. He also powered up Chaoseater using the souls of slain demons. Once the sword's power reaches critical mass, it increases in size, with flames engulfing its blade. Its power also turnes War into his Chaos Form.

the Destroyer, formerly Abaddon

In the end, War discovered the truth after saving Azrael, the Angel of Death. In fact, Abaddon preemptively incited the Apocalypse, for he would do anything to ensure his victory. He survived the Apocalypse, but he was banished from Heaven due to his failure. Eventually, his hatred corrupted and turned him into the Destroyer. Thus, it's up to War to destroy the Destroyer and prove his innocence.
