Never piss off a bride at her wedding. That was the lesson learnt by the Vipers, a group of elite assassins, after they destroyed their former member’s dreams of living a normal life. Simply called the Bride, the Vipers wreaked havoc on her wedding night — mercilessly killing anyone present, including her groom-to-be. Bill, her former boss and lover, was the one responsible. He was so angry she left him with a word that he shot her in the head right there and then.

By sheer luck, the Bride survived, though she was in a coma for five years before she woke up. However, her hatred did not wane one bit. She would make the Vipers pay for their sins — especially Bill.

However, she knew that the Vipers were formidable. In order to defeat them, she needed the finest sword, forged by Hattori Hanzo. He was hailed as the best swordsmith, and his skills were revered around the world. However, he abandoned his craft after Bill, his best student, betrayed his teachings and turned into a killer.

The Bride found Hanzo at a sushi shop, where she convinced him to forge his finest katana — the Bride Sword. With it, the Bride was unstoppable. O-Ren Ishii was first on her hit list. The Bride made short work of her after killing her minions. She then tried to kill Bill’s brother Budd. However, he knocked her unconscious, and buried her in a coffin so that she would suffocate to death. Budd then tried to sell the Bride Sword for a million dollars to Elle Driver, who was one of his own. However, she was not amused by his greed, and killed him.

Meanwhile, the Bride was able to escape her own burial. With Budd dead, she easily finished off Elle — digging out her eyeballs and leaving her to die.
Only Bill was left. However, the Bride wasn't prepared for what awaited her when she stormed Bill's apartment. She had presumed her unborn daughter to be dead after she was shot five years ago. In fact, Bill was the father. As such, the Bride was shocked to find her alive, and living with Bill no less.
Although the Bride's anger had subsided, she was unable to forgive him. In the end, the two faced off in one last battle. The Bride was unable to defeat him even with her sword. Desperate, she was forced to use a secret technique to kill him, thus ending the long-standing feud. Thereafter, the Bride started a new life with her daughter, and the Bride Sword was never used again.
