Blade, the vampire hunter

Blade is fated to be vampire hunter since birth. His mother was bitten by a vampire right before giving birth to him — though she died soon after. As such, Blade was born with vampiric abilities. Like a vampire, Blade requires blood to sustain his strength. However, as a half human, he is immune to sunlight and silver — the two weaknesses of a vampire. 

Fortunately, Blade has his late mother’s compassion. He decided to use his powers for good — as a vampire hunter. When a group of vampires — led by Deacon Frost — sought to take over the city, it was up to Blade to stop them.

Daywalker Sword

Blade wields the Daywalker Sword as his weapon of choice, since its silver-edged blade is very effective against vampires. For him, nothing is more satisfying than cutting a vampire in half — guaranteeing its destruction. And there was much vampire-slaying to be done, for Frost had overthrown the Vampire Shadow Council and taken over as de facto leader. He then sought to sacrifice humans in order to fulfill his ultimate goal  — becoming the Blood God, La Magra.

Only Blade, Whistler — his best friend — and Dr. Karen Jenson — his new-found acquaintance — could stop Frost. Of course, Frost would let nothing stand in his way. As such, he killed Whistler and took Karen and Blade as prisoners. However, Blade proved to be more tenacious than expected. He was able to escape, while reclaiming the Daywalker Sword. He then fought through hordes of vampires — before facing Frost in an epic duel.

Blade vs Frost

Unfortunately, Frost had already transformed into La Magra using Blade’s blood as the final catalyst. As such, Blade was unable to kill him  — even with the Daywalker Sword. The Blood God healed all wounds inflicted by the sword almost instantly. Finally, Blade had to rely on EDTA — a chemical agent that was synthesized by Karen. It reacted explosively with La Magra’s vampiric blood, causing the Blood God to implode.

Although Frost is dead, the threat of vampires still looms over the city. Meanwhile, Blade continues to protect the city with his trusty Daywalker Sword.
