FIRE EMBLEM: SWORD OF SEALS
Exaccus in motion |
Exaccus, or Eckesachs, was a Divine Weapon imbued with the element of
lightning. The sword was so powerful its very presence disrupted the
fabric of space and time. As such, only a mighty hero — such as Hartmut —
was able to wield it. With Exaccus, Hartmut joined six heroes and
succeeded in driving the dragons from the world. The seven weapons that
they used were called ‘Legendary Weapons of Elibe’, and forged from the
best in magic and technology. In the aftermath, the heroes swore to keep
the Divine Weapons safe. As an added precaution, they sealed the
weapons magically. Subsequently, Hartmut founded Bern, and kept Exaccus
as its royal heirloom.
Zelphiel vs Roy |
Centuries later, when Zephiel was King of Bern, the Divine Weapons were unsealed — for their powers were needed to defeat Nergal’s dark magic. While Zephiel worked hard to bring peace to the world, he lost faith in humanity after his family betrayed him. As such, he took Exaccus and tried to bring the dragons back to ‘cleanse’ the world of humans. Zephiel used the sword in many battles — most notably the fight with Roy the Hero, who wield the Sword of Seals. Unfortunately, even Exaccus was no match for the Sword of Seals, and Zelphiel was defeated soon after.
Exaccus was uniquely designed. Its inner-workings were also highly advanced. In its dormant state, the sword takes the shape of a sceptre. However, when it was activated, a flash of lightning struck the sword, turning it into a broadsword that could injure even the toughest foes. There were many speculations regarding Exaccus’ mechanics during transformation. A plausible theory was that the sudden surge of electricity rearranged the sword’s components, thus allowing it to take different forms.
